Tejas Plasmachinery were also one of the first manufacturers in India to develop extruder with split barrel for manufacturing Thermoset Powder Coating resin.
We have also developed and manufactured single screw extruder line for PP Mat Tubing industry.
More than 150 such machines have been installed at various clients across India.
Apart from manufacturing of extruders we also provide consultancy services for setting up of Plants which includes, planning for factory layout,
electrical and piping layouts, guidance in processing of polymers.

Mr. Vilas Gawand
Mr. V. S. Gawand has done his Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from Bombay University in 1960. He specialized himself in Research & Development of Extruders and post-extrusion. Mr. Vinit Gawand completed his Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) from Bombay University in 1989. He specializes in Polymer processing in thermosets and thermo-plastic polymers.
Mr. V. S. Gawand after completing his engineering started his career with Hindustan Machine & Tools (HMT), Bangalore in the Design department. He started his career as a Junior Engineer and when HMT decided to start a new unit at Hyderabad, he was commissioned to establish the Design department at this location. During his 10 years with HMT, he specialized in designing of Special Purpose Machines (SPM).
Having gained extensive experience in SPM, he moved into Plastic Processing Machinery manufacturing. He joined R. H. Windsor (Klockner Windsor) who were the pioneers in manufacturing of Extrusion lines. During his 18 years at Windsor, he has travelled extensively to countries like Germany, UK, USA, etc. for study of Extrusion lines and develop the technology in India.
Following Extrusion Plants were developed during his employment with Windsor where he was heading the Research & Development (R&D) Department:
- Design of Single Screw Extruders with screw diameters ranging from 32 mm to 120 mm used in manufacture of Blown Film - HM-HDPE , LDPE , LLDPE , PVC and Water Quenched PP Clear film also Two & Three Layer Film Plants with Oscillating Table for various Film combinations & Plants for Oriented Products like Raffia Tapes and Mono filaments.
- Development of Contra rotating Twin Screw Extruders having Screw Diameters of 65 mm & 80 mm from Scratch for Processing of PVC Pipes. Based on these Extruders, developed Plants for Production of Rigid PVC Pipes for Pipes with diameters ranging from 16 mm to 250 mm.
- Development of Co-rotating Twin Screw Extruders for Soaps of Dia. 105 & 210 mm
Mr. Vinit Gawand
After voluntary retirement from Windsor, Mr. V. S. Gawand started his Consultancy services and helped design and develop Twin Screw Co-rotating compounding extruders. In 1994 he established Tejas Plasmachinery along with his son Mr. Vinit Gawand.
Mr. Vinit Gawand, after completing his engineering worked with Prince Group for 5 years. Starting as a Trainee Engineer in 1989 he rose to be in-charge of their Production activities. Here he gained experience in Plant setup and processing of polymers. From 1994 he is with Tejas Plasmachinery.
Here he was instrumental in helping his clients to set up their factories starting from factory layout, structural requirement, electrical setup and commissioning of plant and machinery. Till date he has commissioned more than 25 factories. Some of his key clients have been Goyal Airshrink India Ltd. (Sinnar), Al Aziz Polymers Pvt. Ltd. (Daman), Konkan Speciality Polyproducts Pvt. Ltd. (Mangalore), Phils Heavy Engineering Pvt. Ltd. (Mangalore). With his academic background and industry experience he ventured into manufacture of Powder Coating Paints with Philcoat India. His contribution to Philcoat ranges from design and development of Twin Screw extruder for manufacturing the powder coating (Epoxy/ Polyester based) powder, production of the powder and developing more than 500 colour shades and Sales & Marketing of the same.
